SCS18U.. This is a post by a friend of mine, she is a freshman college player for Bluefied College in Virginia.
She is what I call a "Great Teammate "

Taylor Nunn

Yesterday was a humbling experience... I got to learn a lot about myself as a player, and as a teammate... Let me give some background so you all will understand... Since middle school I have been a starting player... I started on almost every travel ball team I played on... In high school I started all 4 years... So yesterday as I watched the game I got to be a teammate... I was the one who was on the fence watching the game and getting to cheer on the ones on the field... For five innings in the first game I watched them shift to make plays, and as I watched I tried to learn all that I can... Between innings, I went and warmed up to be ready if I was needed... In the bottom of the sixth I would have that chance with two outs and a girl on the bases I got to face a girl who had hit a home run in her first at bat against us... I did my job and she popped up to the outfield getting us out of the inning... One play was all I was in for, and I am thankful that I was able to help my team... The next inning our starting pitcher entered back into the game... I watched and cheered for her and the rest of our team... As I watched I thought of things I can work on as a fielder, batter, and pitcher that I can work on to ready for the next time... We won our first game 8-4 against Brevard College and lost our second game of the double header 5-1... I want to say thank you to my family for traveling 4 and a half hours to watch us play... I love you and am so blessed to have you all in my life!!! I am thankful that God has given me this opportunity to be doing what I love... #Godfirst #GoRams #work #humbled

Jessica Stephenson who plays for the Summit City Sluggers 18 u (Ft Wayne,Ind) has agreed to further education and softball career at Goshen College,Goshen,Indiana.
Coach Plezbert is gaining an outstanding hitter that can play Inf/OF. Jess is a very tough out always giving it her all on every at bat and always going all out on every defensive play. I have been very fortunate to have Jess on my team.Jessica is living proof that if you put in the time and work good things will happen to you.!!
Jessica is a Junior (2021 Grad) at Yorktown H S in Yorktown,Indiana..
Congratulations Jess on a job well done.!! Jess is the 6th current player on the SCS 18u that will be going on to play college ball.

Our final 2 Summit City Sluggers 18 u (Ft Wayne,Ind) players signed tonight with Miami of Ohio Hamilton. Elicia Franklin and Hope Davis. Both will graduate from Leo HS in 2020 . Thank you to coach Rick Walker for making the trip to Ft Wayne from Cincinnati. Thank you to ch 55 Petar Hood for recording the festivities .
Coach Walker is getting two dynamite softball players that will make a immediate positive impact on his team . With this signing all 5 of our SCS 18 u 2020 graduates will be playing softball in college.

Summit City Sluggers 18 u Christmas party . We all had a great time. Thank you to the What’s Up Pub and Grub in Ft Wayne , Ind. for their hospitality.

For the Summit City Sluggers 18U it has been a great fall. Not only did we play a very strong showcase and college softball schedule we had all 5 of our senior players commit to furthering their education and softball careers byby accepting college offers !!

An ultimate team player with a definitive intense side. Elicia has shown her grit and determination batting back from labrum surgery. She is ready to show everyone that she is back big time !!

College Commitment Alert !!! Hope Davis of the Summit City Sluggers 18U(Ft.Wayne,In) has agreed to further her education and softball career at Miami of Ohio,Hamilton.
Coach Walker is getting a gem in Hope. Hope has a rocket for a arm,great defensively ,superior speed with a dynamite bat.
Hope can play anywhere on the field. She will be a major asset to Coach Walker's program. I don't have enough superlatives to describe her.
Hope will graduate from Leo High School in 2020 Congratulations Hope !!! !!!
This is our 4th Summit City Slugger 18U player to commit for college this fall. and we have 2 others with college offers !!!

Summit City Sluggers 18 U. On Jan 11. We will have a college recruiting practice. !!! We will be having a College Head Softball Coach helping run our practice . Pitchers and catchers start at 9am till 10 am. Then everyone from 10 till noon . This a great opportunity for our players to be seen first hand by an outstanding young softball coach.
Come prepared mentally and physically for this !!!

We will embark on a very tough summer /recruiting schedule.
These tournaments will challenge us and make us better. It
will help push the players to become college ready.

Remember the lifelong friends that you have made . The places that you’ve played . The training ,the sacrifices , the injuries , the rehab and a lifetime of memories. Knowing that you would do it all over again. Then you’ve had a successful career !
